Significance of Supply Chain Management System

Supply Chain Management means the management of supply of goods and products from the firms to the market. It is basically a logistics network that includes processes like logistics management, conversion, sourcing and pouring etc. It controls all movement and storage of raw materials, goods in process and finally finished products from the level of origin to level of consumption.

Supply chain is mostly used in logistics and transport industry where the main objective involves synchronization, measurement, customer service and benchmarking. All these objectives are co-related so that optimum profit is obtained and customer satisfaction is achieved.
